The story follows the adventures of three young mages who get involved in a conspiracy involving the alchemy of souls. The plot of Alchemy of Souls
The plot of Alchemy of Souls is divided into two seasons, each consisting of 15 episodes. The first season focuses on the origin and background of the main characters, while the second season delves into the main conflict and climax of the story.
In season one, we learn that 20 years ago, the king of Daeho asked Jang Gang, the best mage in the land, to perform the alchemy of souls for him, as he was dying of a terminal illness. Jang Gang agreed, but the spell went wrong and caused a huge explosion that killed many people and destroyed part of the palace. Jang Gang survived, but his son Jang Uk was cursed with an inability to use magic.
Meanwhile, Naksu, a shadow assassin who works for a mysterious organization called Chwiseonru, was sent to kill Jang Gang. However, she was intercepted by Park Jin, another powerful mage who works for the royal family. In order to escape, Naksu used the alchemy of souls to transfer her soul into the body of Mu-deok, a peasant girl who was nearby.
Twenty years later, Jang Uk grew up as a poor and bullied orphan who dreams of becoming a mage. He meets Mu-deok, who still has Naksu's soul inside her, and hires her as his maid. He also meets Seo Yul, a noble and loyal mage who serves the king. The three of them become friends and start to learn more about each other's secrets and pasts.
In season two, we discover that Chwiseonru is planning to overthrow the king and take over Daeho using the alchemy of souls. They have been collecting souls from various people and animals, and have also kidnapped Jang Gang, who holds the key to the spell. They intend to use Jang Uk as their final vessel, as he has a special soul that can withstand the alchemy.
Jang Uk, Mu-deok, and Seo Yul join forces with Park Jin and other allies to stop Chwiseonru's scheme. Along the way, they face many challenges and enemies, as well as revelations and betrayals. They also have to deal with their own feelings and emotions, as they fall in love with each other.
