At Barnette Academy, we utilize an emergent curriculum where teachers plan activities and lessons based on the specific children they are working with. Teachers carefully observe interests, questions, and skill levels of the children and use those observations to guide topics, themes, and projects. In this way, children have an active role in their learning. Instead of cookie-cutter lessons designed a year in advance, our teachers plan explorations that will spark curiosity and fuel investigation.
